Vishal Sachdev, a clinical assistant professor of business administration, joined the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2008. He has served as director of Illinois MakerLab since 2013, and is interested in researching the role of technology in enabling collective action, cooperative production, information sharing, sense-making, and collaborative work. He was honored by the campus with the Emerging Award for Excellence in Public Engagement for his local, national, and global contributions with MakerLab. Vishal Sachdev earned a BA in mathematics at St. Stephens College at New Delhi in 1993, an MS in international business at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade at New Delhi in 1996, and a PhD in information systems at the University of Texas at Arlington in 2007.
Dr. Qingquan Zhang
Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Finance
Quingquan Zhang is a highly accomplished individual with a diverse educational background, holding an MBA in Analytic Finance and Entrepreneurship from the University of Chicago in 2015, as well as a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Minnesota at Twin Cities in 2008. Currently serving as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign since 2023, Zhang has also contributed as an Instructor of Finance at the University of Illinois from 2019 to 2022. Noteworthy accolades include being recognized as a Disruption and Innovation Fellow in 2021-2022 and holding the title of R.C. Evans Data Analytics Fellow at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2020.
Dr. Fei Du
Associate Professor of Accountancy
Fei Du is an associate professor of accountancy at Gies College of Business. Before she joined the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2017, she taught at the University of Hong Kong from 2011-2017. Fei is interested in archival managerial accounting research. Her research focuses on the role of social preferences and social equity in managerial decision-making. She enjoys working with data, such as extracting unstructured data, putting such data into order, identifying useful variables, and building databases for organizational decision-making purposes. Fei runs field interviews with practitioners to guide her empirical efforts. Her research has appeared in top academic journals, including The Accounting Review, Review of Accounting Studies, Contemporary Accounting Research, Academy of Management Journal, and Journal of Management Accounting Research. She won the American Accounting Association’s Notable Contribution to Management Accounting Literature Award in 2016 and its Impact on Management Accounting Practice Award in 2018.
