Dr. Yi Fang holds the position of Associate Professor and Director of Responsible AI at Santa Clara University. His expertise lies in information retrieval, natural language process, and machine learning, and he has created several new courses in these areas at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Dr. Fang's research on Responsible AI has garnered significant external funding from both government entities such as the National Science Foundation, National Institute of Standards and Technology, and leading tech corporations including Google and Walmart. Dr. Fang is the Chair of the Steering Committee for the ACM International Conference on the Theory of Information Retrieval. He also serves as Area Chair or on the Senior Program Committee for several major AI conferences.
