Jason Berkowitz

Jason P. Berkowitz joined the department of Economics and Finance in the fall of 2012 as an Assistant Professor of Finance. His research and teaching interests are focused in the area of investments. Dr. Berkowitz also has addition interests in the unique application of sports data, such as sports betting markets, as a proxy for understanding financial markets and outcomes, where real world financial data is difficult to acquire. Between getting his degrees, Dr. Berkowitz worked in the sports industry as a Director of Finance for the Wilmington Blue Rocks. In addition, he has also been a manager and controller for a concessionaire, at several major sport stadiums that include Lincoln Financial Field (PA), RFK Stadium (DC), and Verizon Center (DC). Dr. Berkowitz received his Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Finance from The George Washington University as well as his Ph.D. from University of North Carolina-Charlotte.
