About the speaker

Dr. Ryall Carroll

Dr. Ryall Carroll joined St. John’s University in Fall 2008 after earning his Ph.D. in marketing from City University of New York - Baruch College. His research focuses on consumer behavior, including psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, and behavioral decision theory, with publications in journals like the Journal of Advertising and Marketing Letters, as well as books such as Psycholinguistic Phenomena in Marketing Communications. He has presented at conferences like The Association for Consumer Research and Society for Consumer Psychology.

As the Co-Founder of possbl.me, Dr. Carroll leverages his Ph.D. from Baruch College and extensive marketing and academia experience. Prior to this role, he collaborated with Co-Founder Joel Weingarten on projects including the development of raiserve, a nonprofit fundraising platform, and meals4heroes, which provided meals to over 50,000 frontline workers in New York City during the Covid-19 pandemic.

possbl.me utilizes the evidence-based Possibility Mindset Framework from Dr. Mike Nakkula's team at Penn GSE to deliver Career and Postsecondary Readiness programs. It is currently implemented in over 20 middle schools in NYC, reaching over 1000 students annually.
